Agreement to Terms

By using spore.host (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

What spore.host Is

spore.host is an open-source command-line tool suite and web dashboard for launching and managing AWS EC2 instances. The Service:

  • Helps launch EC2 instances with automatic termination (TTL)
  • Provides a dashboard to view your instances
  • Uses your AWS account and credentials
  • Is provided free of charge under the Apache License 2.0

Your Responsibilities

AWS account

  • You must have a valid AWS account
  • You are responsible for all AWS charges incurred
  • You must comply with AWS Service Terms
  • You are responsible for managing AWS credentials securely

Costs

⚠️ Important: AWS charges apply for all EC2 instances, storage, and data transfer. spore.host helps manage TTL to prevent runaway costs, but you are solely responsible for monitoring and paying AWS bills.

Lawful use

  • Don't use the Service for illegal activities
  • Don't abuse, hack, or disrupt the Service
  • Follow the AWS Acceptable Use Policy

No Warranty

The Service is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee uptime, and we're not responsible for data loss or AWS charges. Features may change or be discontinued.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of spore.host, including AWS charges, data loss, or service interruptions.

Open Source License

spore.host is licensed under the Apache License 2.0. The license text takes precedence over these Terms for software usage.

Third-Party Services

SMS Notifications

spore.host offers optional SMS notifications for instance lifecycle events (TTL warnings, idle stops, job completions). Message frequency varies based on instance activity. Message and data rates may apply.

  • Opt-in: Run spawn defaults set phone +1XXXXXXXXXX in the CLI. No messages are sent until you explicitly register your number.
  • Opt-out: Reply STOP to any message at any time, or run spawn defaults unset phone.
  • Help: Reply HELP to any message for support information.
  • SMS notifications are operational only — no marketing messages are sent.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
